On the first day of this campaign, Vice President Joe Biden — a tireless fighter for working families — came to New Jersey to champion the critical role that Jon Corzine played in shaping the national economic recovery plan.

Recently, President Barack Obama stood side-by-side with Governor Corzine and over 17,000 New Jerseyans because he wants a progressive partner that he can count on.

And our great Governor is out running hard (literally) to deliver on that partnership. He has opened over a dozen Victory 09 campaign offices across the state where Democrats and Independents are coming together to make sure we keep New Jersey blue.

And now there’s a feisty fighter from Bergen County running for Lieutenant Governor. Make no mistake: The Corzine/Weinberg campaign is only just getting started!

Public service to me has always been about placing principle above politics. And Governor Corzine stands with me 100%.

Ever since I first elbowed my way into public service all those years ago, I’ve been fighting against the old boys club and the insiders who are more focused on political contributions than on doing what’s right.

Don’t let the national Republicans fool you, that’s exactly who we’re running against this year: A George W. Bush insider, who gave away millions in no-bid contracts to his political buddies and authorized the spying on New Jersey citizens via their cell phone usage.

That’s what we’re facing, and that is why I decided to accept the nomination to serve as Jon Corzine’s Lieutenant Governor.

Now is one of those times when good people in government and good people across the state must stand up and fight. Now is the time to charge in with everything that you have.
