Today in Irvington, Brian Miller, Executive Director for Ceasefire New Jersey, announced the organization’s endorsement of Governor Jon Corzine and Senator Loretta Weinberg. Ceasefire New Jersey is the Garden State’s leading organization devoted to reducing gun violence.
Saluting the Governor’s and Senator’s ongoing efforts to keep guns off the streets, pass pivotal gun control legislation such as the landmark one-hand-gun-a-month legislation and their commitment to the law enforcement professionals of New Jersey, Miller stated:
“Ceasefire has dealt with political leaders for decades who mouth platitudes and have done little about guns, but Jon Corzine is of a different breed. He feels strongly about this issue in his heart and he has acted repeatedly to do the right thing and make New Jersey citizens safer from gun violence.”
Governor Corzine and Senator Weinberg graciously accepted this endorsement on the heels of endorsements from the New Jersey Fraternal Order of Police, The International Association of Fire Fighters, the New Jersey State Firemen’s Mutual Benevolent Association, and the Health Professionals and Allied Employees.
These endorsements by the law enforcement and safety professionals communities, prove even further that the Corzine/Weinberg ticket is the true law enforcement candidacy in this election.
