Philadelphia Inquirer endorses Jon Corzine

Dear Friend,

It’s just the latest sign that our campaign has the momentum: This morning the Philadelphia Inquirer endorsed Jon Corzine’s re-election for Governor of New Jersey because his “record shows a capacity to go against the state’s traditional politics and improve its government”:

“Corzine has taken some of the sternest steps in memory to push school and municipal consolidation, while capping property levies…”

“The governor has also pushed for the nation’s strongest campaign-finance laws.”

“Some of Corzine’s imperfect victories are nevertheless remarkable for a New Jersey governor — and hard to imagine under the state’s usual government by insiders.”

“The dual-officeholding ban he championed…will put an end to a backward practice that was thoroughly entrenched.”

And this is what they had to say about Chris Christie:

“Over the better part of a year of campaigning, he gave the public astonishingly few reasons to vote for him. By dodging fundamental policy questions, he asked to be exempted from the basic rules of seeking public office.”

The choice in this election is clear, and our campaign continues to build momentum as more New Jerseyans learn about the real differences between the candidates.

Learn about those clear differences yourself by watching last night’s gubernatorial debate, which will be televised at 2:00 pm on Saturday on Philadelphia station WTXF-TV Fox 29 and at noon on Sunday on New York station WWOR-TV My9. You can also watch archived video of the debate online by clicking here.

Please share this email with friends and family so they can learn about the real choice they have in this election.

Thank you for your continued support,
